El Dr. de Quintana des de la infància volia ser metge per poder ajudar a les persones. Va estudiar la llicenciatura de Medicina i Cirurgia a la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). En els primers anys de carrera li va fascinar un òrgan tan complex i desconegut com és el cervell. Tot això unit a la seva preferència a la part quirúrgica va fer que en l'elecció de la seva especialitat no tingués dubtes: Neurocirurgia.

La residència de Neurocirurgia la va realitzar a l'Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. Van ser anys de dur treball i estudi on ja es va començar a subespecializar en dues àrees principals: Tumors cerebrals (Neuro-Oncologia) i Cirurgia mínimament invasiva de columna. Va completar la seva formació en dos centres de referència mundial com són el Hospitalier Universitaire de Montpeller i Ospedale Niguarda de Milan.

En l´actualitat, El Dr. de Quintana és Cap de Servei de l'Hospital Sanitas CIMA, essent un dels millors especialistes de columna vertebral a Barcelona i un cirurgià expert en tumors cerebrals.
